Ecwamix has, over the years, been keenly aware of the challenges that many of our clients face as small, entrepreneurial manufacturing enterprises. Among the daily obstacles for these small businesses, such as the sourcing and stocking of raw materials, there is the constant need for improved manufacturing equipment. Often, the owners of these small businesses are forced to make alternative plans due to the investment required to purchase a new mixer or scale.
Bolofo & Associates premises
Bolofo & Associates, a small business located near Tshepisong; brought into trading in 2003 by Mr. Moorosi Bolofo, faced the similar challenge of equipment needing to be replaced. Moorosi began to purchase from Ecwamix in 2014. We assisted with formulation guidance and began to see the entrepreneurial spirit of Bolofo & Associates, competing in a market where production turnaround time makes the difference between making or loosing a deal.
Drill press used as a mixer Towards the end of 2017 the Ecwamix team visited the manufacturing premises of Bolofo & Associates. During our visit we immediately saw the need to assist Moorosi with some equipment to aid him in his production. We discussed the various options with Moorosi and once we understood his vision and ideas for growth, the plan was put into action. Using our in-house engineering department, we custom designed a full production package for Moorosi.
As specialist manufacturers we know the priority of reliable mixing machines and accurate instruments. Moreover, the equipment would have to be versatile and user-friendly. Everything was designed around these specifications. On the 22nd of February 2018, we had the privilege of empowering Moorosi as part of our chemical enterprise development plan.

The mixer designed is a chemical grade variable speed motor, with a stainless-steel shaft and interchangeable mixing blades.

Holding the custom designed mixer is a bespoke stand with the ability to raise and lower the mixer in-situ, with a uniquely placed hoist. This allows the mixing area to be moved as needed, all the while keeping a safe and sturdy operation.
To achieve accuracy, we included a 300Kg calibrated industrial scale.
Moreover, the ability to decant the product as soon as it is manufactured is of vital importance. Thus, we created a drum to tap system whereby the manufacturing drum has attached valves, allowing for decanting to happen without any delays. These drums are situated on a mobile holder that moves in any direction and remains stable, this is thanks to the ingenuity of our engineering department.
Bolofo & Associates manufacture a wide range of house- hold and industrial detergents. Their aim is to grow their market share and provide high quality finished goods to a variety of clients. Being a local manufacturer, and having to sell directly to the public, Ecwamix included some shelving for product display at their shop front
